Days In Denim With Eimear Varian Barry At Brown Thomas

Days In Denim With Eimear Varian Barry At Brown Thomas

Image Magazine?Editor?Rosaleen McMeel and Influencer Eimear Varian Barry will host a free denim master class in Brown Thomas Cork on Saturday, 23rd?September at 1 pm. Ahead of Eimear’s appearance in store, the globe-trotting stylist and Cork native shares the styling tricks that work all year-round.

My first foray into denim?was an oversized pair of jeans that I bought when I was 13. I was working at Toni & Guy on Paul Street in Cork, and one Saturday, as soon as I got paid, I went into the shop next door and picked them out. I loved them so much that I wore them to work the next Saturday knowing all too well I’d be given out to.

To transform an outfit,?I often cut off the ends of my jeans. This works so well year-round; both with boots in winter, and sandals or heels in summer.

My denim muse is?blogger, fashion writer and brand consultant Lucy Williams, closely followed by blogger and stylist Brooke Testoni.

I think it’s important to know your body shape and work with it.?I don’t wear boyfriend jeans because I don’t think they suit my height and shape: I have high, broad hips and a flat behind, so that style is quite unflattering on me. My body looks totally different to when I wear my preferred style, which is skinny and high-waisted.

This workshop forms part of Brown Thomas? 16-day celebration of all things denim. To guarantee you find your perfect fit, the Brown Thomas team of expert fitters will be on?hand, sharing their tips to ensure you find the most flattering silhouette for your shape. They’ll also offer expert advice on how to style your denim from head to toe.

Housing the largest denim bar in Ireland, Brown Thomas stock a massive 16,255 pairs across 250 styles and 11 must-have brands, the options are endless – so whether you prefer a straight leg with a frayed hem; a flare with a 70s influence; or a super skinny style in a high-rise fit, there is bound to be something for you.
