Danielle Sherman of Eden: My Little Luxuries

Danielle Sherman of Eden: My Little Luxuries

Edun creative director Danielle Sherman was born and grew up in Los Angeles. Before joining the fashion house founded by Ali Hewson, Sherman co-founded The Row with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and was Alexander Wang’s design director for men’s and women’s T by Alexander Wang. Danielle lets us in on a few of her favourite things of the moment, what she is enjoying most.

Travelling to Morocco on a sourcing trip. One of the highlights of a recent trip was investigating the nooks and crannies of Fez’s medina to find small-scale artisans, including Ouazzani, one of the only master brocade weavers left in Morocco. His work was included in Edun’s autumn 2015 collection. Each piece that features his brocade is truly one of a kind. We have developed a great relationship, and hope to continue it for seasons to come.

Visiting exhibitions at Hauser & Wirth in NYC. The collection of work there is really inspiring, including Jenny Holzer’s pieces.

Coveting Edun’s leather and suede colour- block dress with patch pockets. The sleeveless, short polo neck dress is really versatile. It can be thrown over a casual long-sleeved knit on chilly evenings or worn on its own. I love pairing it with Edun’s stretch-suede thigh-high boots before heading out for an evening – it feels like a second skin.

Shopping for vintage items is something I really love. My latest find is a pair of Levi’s, which I recently came upon at a favourite Brooklyn haunt of mine, Stella Dallas thrift shop. The store has a great range of all-American classics, from bomber jackets to flannels, and it’s so fun to rummage through the racks for special finds.

Wearing Edun’s PF15 square pinstripe button vest blazer. The weight of the fabric is perfect for in-between weather, and adds a touch of flair to any outfit.

Dining At Estela in SoHo, an amazing restaurant that combines the unexpected and cool. I love the complexity and sophistication of the dishes there.
