It’s Christmas party time on the last Smart Casual of the year

Smart Casual is IMAGE’s first fashion podcast, in collaboration with Kildare Village. In our bi-weekly chats, we examine why we wear the clothes we do and deal with personal style in a way that speaks to you. 

Happy Christmas everybody! Tis the season for food, drink and all things sparkly — clothing, obviously, included. Christmas is one of our favourite times of year for fashion here at IMAGE HQ, as it seems to be when people let their hair down and experiment with lots of new styles and looks. We always love to find out what the most stylish among us plan on wearing throughout party season, and that’s exactly the theme of our very special last episode of 2018.

We’re kicking things off this week with some more voices than usual. Our hosts Marie, Niamh and Dominique are hosting a little Christmas party of their own in the recording booth, and inviting stylish IMAGE staffers in to have a chat and some laughs. Our guests this week are IMAGE Head of Branded Content Rachael Gallivan, staff writer Edaein O’Connell and our very own Smart Casual producer Erin Lindsay. The girls chatted about everything from dream party outfits to best Christmas memories to describing their own personal style.

Our interviewee for the last episode of the year is none other than stylist and creative director Courtney Smith, who you almost definitely recognise from her work with Brown Thomas, H&M, Parfois and, of course, on Instagram. Courtney is one of the most exciting talents on the Irish styling scene, and Niamh was so excited to chat with her about her career choices, her plans for the future, her opinions on social media and being an ‘influencer’ and, of course, what she’ll be wearing on Christmas day.

Rounding off the show this week, our hosts take to the table one last time in 2018 to chat about their fashion highs — this time though, it’s their highs from the entire year. Dominique, Marie and Niamh reminisce on what has been an incredible, exciting and incomparable year in the world of fashion, and talk about their own personal highs of a very exciting year at IMAGE HQ.
