BOYGURL: The Gender Neutral Fashion Brand From Berlin

See More Photos
In today’s world, where lines blur and a person’s gender and sexuality is no longer fixed within the parameters of how we once defined them, the fashion industry has become all the more interesting. This morning, we’re familiarising ourselves with Berlin-based fashion designer Leni Bolt whose gender-neutral fashion brand BOYGURL is all kinds of covetable. Bolt has already enjoyed a warm reception at home in Germany, but now it’s time to take his work to an international level and we don’t doubt that it will soar.

Speaking with the brand, it was the headlines surrounding Caitlyn Jenner’s transition that inspired Leni to transfer these issues to Berlin’s colourful fashion scene. A budding fashion hero and an activist, Bolt’s mission is clear: we must fight for more visibility of those with gender nonconformity, and work tirelessly to do away with prejudices and restrictions. In terms of the collection, what you’re getting here are witty prints with an important message. Leni wants to attract attention to the gender diversity in our society through his self-expression on social media channels like Instagram and Snapchat. Best of all, the collection is wearable for both men and women.

Leading with the hashtag #nogender, we take great pleasure in introducing this brand to our discerning readers. When fashion and social issues merge, you realise once again how powerful this form of expression truly is.
