This week was a smorgasbord of Well Dressed Gals. However, we have to hand it to Amal Clooney wore showed up to her husband’s work do in a vintage Yves Saint Laurent. As you do. Other hits of the week include the chic Oscars Luncheon, Gaga’s Red Suit, and the amfAR gala in Manhattan on Wednesday night. So many gowns. Here’s our assessment of who knocked it out of the park wearing clothes this week.
Amal Clooney at the berlin premiere of upcoming Coen Brothers comedy Hail, Caesar! was possibly the most glam gown of the week. The barrister sourced the YSL dress from William Vintage.
Rooney Mara at the Oscars Luncheon in Giambattista Valli.
Eva Herzigova stole the Vogue 100 party in our humble opinion. We love a tailored suit done well.
Erin O’Connor’s MO is to stand out. We love the shoulder cut-outs of this Erdem dress.
Kinvara Balfour’s Peter Pilotto dress is perfect for Spring and we love the geometric tree pattern. Fun.
Edie Campbell is almost too cool.
Charlotte Dellal’s entire ensemble is what we like to imagine we’d look like if we time-travelled to 1980s Manhattan.
Leslie Mann has been playing up the preppy flirty style since her press tour for How To Be Single kicked off and we like it. This applique dress is Reem Acra.
Rebel Wilson’s Theia dress comes courtesy of Irish designer Don O?Neill and we love the turquoise shade with her blonde.
Alison Brie in David Koma was a bit Liz Hurley in that dress, but it was also elegant, subtle, beautifully cut.
Some of our readers felt Dakota Johnson looked a bit disheveled in Marc Jacobs but we really liked the on-my-way-to-a-party vibe of this. And actually, Dakota did wear this to two parties – she nipped into the Vogue 100 party the same night as the premiere for her new movie. So there.
Cally Jane Beech wears the dress we’d wear if we were the owners of a yacht moored along the Riviera.
Kendal Jenner at the launch of the Kendall + Kylie clothing line in New York earlier this week. She stuck to her designated palette.
Have been in slight love with Gugu Mbatha-Raw ever since her role in the period drama Belle. She attended the NAACP’s in Narciso Rodriguez.
I think Rachel McAdams red carpeting this Awards Seasons has been the most overlooked. Here she is in custom Prada.
However, I also believe Saoirse Ronan has won the Cool Girl of the Oscars already. She’s taken risks that have 95% paid off and she’s building a personal brand that says I am my own person.
Lady Gaga in Gucci at the Super Bowl was too fab to describe in mere mortal words. Gwan Gaga.
Blake Lively in Chanel at the amfAR gala. We like her commitment to this silhouette but would love to see her in darker colours.
Diane Kruger in Prada. A lot of applause from these quarters, as is customary when it comes to the Krug.
The model Anais Mali is Patricia Fields levels of fab in Sophie Theallet.
Rachel Zoe medusa-ing it up in her own design.
Gigi Hadid stole the Zoolander 2 premiere spotlight in Marc Jacobs.
Penelope Cruz wore Balmain for the Zoolander 2 premiere.
Meanwhile Bee Shaffer looked amazing in a Dolce & Gabbana dress.
