5 Key Pieces For Christmas

5 Key Pieces For Christmas

Given that it’s Black Friday weekend and Cyber Monday shortly, most of you will be?on the hunt for your Christmas wardrobe over the next couple of days. Not sure what to invest in? Here are the five pieces I’ll be buying to see me through the festive season.

A ?pleated skirt

At Christmas I like my daywear to have as special a feel as my evening wear. This velvet pleat skirt is perfect for adding a little luxe to an outfit. It will dress up flat boots and a sweater, but will translate beautifully for evening when paired with heels and a blazer.

Velvet pleat midi skirt, €76 at Topshop

A jumpsuit

I love to include a touch of festive red in my holiday wardrobe. This jumpsuit is an amazing price at just €29.99, and is a lovely soft shade of raspberry red (stay away from fire-engine red. That’s Santa’s domain.) so very flattering and easy to mix with other shades such as burgundy, grey, navy or mustard. It’s so versatile too – throw a sweater over it and you’re wearing a pair of culottes instead.

Sleeveless jumpsuit, €29.99 at Zara

A gorgeous knit

This is such an elegant piece with its loose-fitting polo-neck and elbow-length sleeves. Great for layering, it feels very modern in shape, but embraces traditional cable stitching, creating a lovely contrast between contemporary and classic style.

Braided cape-style sweater, €89.95 at Massimo Dutti

A Casual Dress

Again,?I like to focus on adding a bit of pizzaz to my daywear over Christmas and this gorgeous textured knitted dress is perfect. The V-neck is quite deep so I’d probably layer it over a shirt or polo-neck for day.

Tie wrap knitted jumper, €92.95 at finerylondon.com

A smart blazer

For those days when all I want to do is throw on my jeans and a T-shirt, a velvet blazer is the perfect piece?to smarten?up the outfit. I like the loose fit of this H&M jacket. It’ll feel just as relaxed to wear as your T-shirt given its slouchy silhouette.

Velvet jacket, €39.99 at H&M
