Noughties trends have been reentering the mainstream for several months now – the rising popularity of Ugg boots should have been the first sign that we were losing our minds but the resurgence of capris is truly unhinged.

According to @style.analytics, a data-driven Instagram account focused on fashion forecasting, there was a 95% increase in Pinterest searches for ‘capris’ and ‘capri outfits’ last month – mostly by Gen Z… which makes sense; they were too young to have experienced the trend’s true horrors in the early 2000s. They also bypassed metallic liner and glitter lipstick so we must let them make their own fashion mistakes.
While this is one trend I won’t be embracing, the data speaks for itself and capri pants clearly have their fans. Shop our edit below.
