Setting sprays are never more needed than in hot weather. While we’re unprepared for heatwaves in many ways, a great setting spray is something we can prep for…
I don’t know about you, but my wardrobe is in NO way ready for this level of heat. Thankfully though, my setting sprays are in place and ready to save me from oily, sweaty skin and melting make-up.
Not only do they set your make-up, they’re nice and refreshing to use and many of them even have some subtle skincare benefits too.
Setting sprays I love
All Nighter by Urban Decay is hands down my favourite setting spray. You’ll struggle to find a product that does more to keep your make-up in place than this. They’re all the exact same – the only difference with this one I’ve pictured is that it’s cherry scented and I LOVE the smell.

Arguably the OG setting spray, as the name suggests, this one fixes, preps and primes skin so it can go both under and over make-up. I love how fresh it feels on the skin (Love Island fans might even say ‘refreshifying’) and it’s a make-up artist favourite for a reason.

For anyone with oily skin, this mattifying one from NYX is the dream. It’s only €10 – ideal – and it sets make-up on oily skin like a dream. I use this one on particularly oily days, or particularly sweaty days, and I find it great.
My only piece of advice for this one is to layer it up. I apply a mist when I’ve got my base done, let it dry while I do my eyes and then do a second spray when make-up is finished.

Tinted make-up, the middle ground between bare skin and a little coverage, is your WFH saviour for a sheer hint of weightless glow.
“The hair look really was inspired by the early 90s,” says Victoria Beckham. “I like the idea of quite heavy hair, heavy fringes, that hair that looks like it’s been slept in a little bit, with a little bit of a bend in it.” Here’s how to recreate the lived-in luxe look from her AW21 show.
You might not be filled with love right now, or drowning in dates, but if anyone deserves a gift, a bit of attention and to feel a bit spoiled right now, it's you. These new little luxuries will pick you up and give you some much-needed indulgence.
Let the revival of hair claws be a reminder to you that no matter how tired you find an accessory, the cyclical nature of fashion will one day make you wish you’d never thrown it out.
