Team IMAGE have tried and tested some exciting new skin treatments over the past few months, and they’re sharing their recommendations below.

For the last year I have suffering with the worst psoriasis flare up I’ve ever had and I’ve been working extra hard to try to get my skin in good shape again with the help of Lauren Rafferty, an Image Skincare Educator who has been showing me how to achieve a better, simpler skincare routine.
For the last few months I have been working with Lauren and trying out treatments such as the Image Skincare Customised Illuminating Facial and Image Clinical Couture Peels such as the Ormedic Lift which is designed to rebalance tired, stressed and dull skin. This non-chemical treatment naturally regenerates, restores and soothes. I’ve also tried the Signature Facelift “VIP Peel” which is an anti-redness, anti inflammatory, anti-pigment, collagen creating, rosacea-suited all-round award winning peel! Glycolic acid and gentle but highly active enzymes speed up cellular turnover to brighten, tighten and lighten your skin in just one treatment.
These treatments have given me instant results and gotten me many, many compliments around the office. The treatments have given me my glow back and I am absolutely delighted, but overall I have learned so much about skincare and ingredients and how to heal my skin again and get my confidence back! I do recommend explaining your skincare issues and seeing what the expert advises. You can avail of these treatments from any salons that specifically stock Image Skincare. Lauren is an expert at what she does and the best advice that she gave was to start simple and invest in a really good cleanser and work from there!

I’ve had three Byonik facials at Ora Clinic over the past few months, and I can honestly say it’s become my favourite thing. It’s one of those rare treatments that manages to be both ultra-relaxing and incredibly effective (I even nodded off during one session). The Byonik uses a pulse-triggered laser that works in sync with your skin’s own rhythm to boost hydration, calm inflammation and stimulate collagen. It leaves me with a serious glow, but more importantly, it’s really helped to soothe my rosacea. The whole experience feels gentle, cooling and restorative – perfect just ahead of busy season.

This past year, skincare has become a real priority for and understanding the ins and outs of my skin health was massively de-mystified by a visit to KINS skin health clinic at The River Lee. The treatment suite has just opened on the first floor of the hotel, but they’ve still got their OG location out in Kinsale. It’s the brain child of Dr. Louise Smyth, and they’ve got a full menu of advanced facials and medical aesthetic treatments, including microneedling, Morpheus8, IPL, and regenerative therapies like exosomes and polynucleotides.
The treatments are divided by which of the three skin layers they’ll be targeting, and there’s no room for trending fads at this clinic — the team will only perform treatments that will benefit your skin, specifically tailored to you. They’ve got a scanner that analyses the layers and creates long-term plans for optimal skin strength and health. It tells you your skin age, shows areas of sun damage, and helps you project down the line so that you can get ahead of yourself with a perfected skincare regimen.
I got the ZO Stimulator Peel, which is a non-invasive chemical peel designed to provide deep exfoliation, brighten the skin, and improve overall skin texture, and I was truly glowing afterwards. The whole experience was an education in all things skin, and I feel like I have much more of a grounding in what I’m looking for from my serums and creams.

Last month, I indulged in a MAGISTRALE Face Experience at the Velvære Spa. The combination of facial massage techniques and Codage products makes this facial the ultimate luxury treat. Velvære Spa has become my favourite over the last few years – the staff will cater to any and all skin requirements and concerns, making a facial there an absolute must.

My ultimate facial of choice for this time of year would have to be the HydraTight facial – exclusive to the Fitzgerald Private Clinic, Dublin. It’s a powerful fusion of the infamous HydraFacial and radiofrequency technology, which leaves your skin feeling refreshed, plumped and glowing.
The treatment begins with radiofrequency thermal energy, which feels, quite unexpectedly, like a warm stone massage. It is deeply soothing, but beneath that comforting warmth, the skin is being gently coaxed into rejuvenation mode. The process stimulates collagen and elastin production to firm and plump from within.
Then comes the HydraFacial, a multi-step ritual of complexion perfection. My therapist Jade performed gentle lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness, followed by a meticulous deep cleanse and exfoliation. A customised peel smoothed away dullness, while a potent cocktail of hydration and antioxidants restored that fresh, dewy vitality that makeup simply cannot fake.
To finish, my favourite bit: the Dermalux LED session. This is where I always totally bliss out. Goggles on, under the Dermalux hood, and while the light feels very bright for about a second, you then get used to it and zone out while that healing light gets to work on tired skin. An indulgent finale to a really hard-working facial.
If you are seeking that “just-stepped-out-of-a-facialist’s-chair” radiance to carry you through the party circuit this season, the HydraTight is a winner. Promising zero downtime, just an instant refresh, glow and lift.
