Must-Have Beauty Buy: Pixi & Caroline Hirons Double Cleanser

Must-Have Beauty Buy: Pixi & Caroline Hirons Double Cleanser

I’m a big fan of double cleansing. The technique has been around a while now, but I’ve done it for years as my skin is prone to acne. ?Double cleansing is exactly as it sounds; it basically means cleansing the face twice before you tone and moisturise. The first cleanse usually involves using an oil to take off every bit of your makeup while the second cleanse involves using a product that will really clean and work on the skin. The process is done to ensure that your face is not only free from all traces of make-up but that your skin is actually being treated with your cleanser, rather than simply removing the excess make-up.

But the process can be bit awkward because you need two products at a time: an oil and a cleanser?(a pain when travelling). Which is why, when I heard that Caroline Hirons, the brilliant and brutally honest blogger – she is, in my eyes, a skincare expert – was collaborating with the equally brilliant Pixi (available at M&S), I knew it was going to be good. And it’s not just good; it’s a skincare game changer with the two products you need to successfully double cleanse in a single pot – a first for any beauty brand.

How it works: On one side is a solid cleansing oil (that melts on contact with the skin) and on the other is a cleansing cream. And both are as kind to the skin as you can get, as this gem of a product contains no mineral oil, no shea butter, no parabens and no animal by-products – so it’s good to the environment as well.

Is it any good? And as with all Pixi products; this is really super effective. ?The oil melts all makeup away while the cream cleanser eliminates any excess traces of dirt and skin is left smooth soft and glowing.

It has cult product written all over it, I’ll be stocking up by about five pots for holidays and to make sure I never run out.

Pixi & Caroline Hirons Double Cleanser is available now at Marks & Spencer at €33.?
