Lady Gaga’s Corset Braid Wins The Grammys

Lady Gaga’s Corset Braid Wins The Grammys

Lady Gaga’s award attire rarely disappoints. Meat dresses. Faux blood. The red lace full length, face-covering veil. The white ruffle tier dress with matching eye mask.  At last night’s Grammys, Gaga wore an Armani Privé black lace ball gown with a cascading train, which for the Queen of Pop was positively demure, but you know you can count on her to take it up a notch, and she did – with a shoelace corset braid from crown to nape.

Her hairstylist Frederic Aspiras created what he called “romantic, seductive, Victorian-inspired corseted braided hair,” by pulling Gaga’s platinum hair into three fishtail braids and weaving a black ribbon from the end of the braid to the crown of her head in criss-cross pattern, like a corset.

“Gaga and I always wanted to do something special with hair braiding,”Aspiras told The Hollywood Reporter. “When I saw the dress it reminded me of gowns from the Victorian Era, and how women wore corsets. Thus, I used that as inspiration to incorporate in the hair and braiding…and voila!”

The laced-up look was created using all John Frieda products, and you can get two of them in Boots – Frizz Ease Curl Reviver Mousse and Luxurious Volume All Out Hold Hair Spray.

Gaga’s make-up artist Sarah Nicole Tanno created a jet black cat eye, “inspired by a dark starry night” using Marc Jacobs.
