The IMAGE guide to the best foundations of the year
We don’t mean to be mysterious but next year will see something truly beautiful launching at IMAGE Publications. We think you are going to really love it and we’re finding it difficult to contain our excitement, but for now, we are staying schtum. Stay tuned gorgeous readers.

The 15th annual IMAGE Beauty Awards supplement came out with the April issue of IMAGE Magazine, bringing you the best beauty launches of the last year, brought to you in partnership with Boots. The awards are independently judged by Ireland’s leading doctors, dermatologists, beauty professionals, make-up artists, hair experts and influencers.

IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris says, “I hope we’ve included some familiar favourites here, along with some future heroes you’ll consider valuable new additions to your beauty bag. We’ve also made sure to pick up plenty of insider pro tips from our expert judging panel and have shared the best with you in the IMAGE Beauty Awards supplement.”

Check out the seven winning foundations chosen by celebrity make-up artist Christine Lucignano; IMAGE contributing editor Melanie Morris; freelance make-up artist Judy Wong; beauty influencer Chloé Boucher; and Tara Anderson, make-up artist.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation, €48

“This has full coverage, but it’s not cakey and lasts all day. It has more of a matte finish, so those with oilier skin will love it. I am obsessed with it.“
– Chloe Boucher

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation, €11.50

“The first light layer is as fabulous as the second. It’s semi-matte and more versatile for different skin types.”
– Chloe Boucher

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation, €21.50

“This has an SPF, which is great. I’m not a coverage girl, but my clients can be, and this makes the skin super-perfected.”
– Judy Wong

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick, €30

“This is amazing for contouring and for full coverage.”
– Christine Lucignano

Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Foundation, €42

“This is my favourite. Some people don’t like it, as it’s kind of matte, but I like to add a highlight, and I’m oily skinned. This is great for brides because it has amazing staying power.”
– Tara Anderson

Giorgio Armani To Go Cushion Foundation, €69

“As far as cushion foundations go, it’s the most luxe one so far.”
– Christine Lucignano

Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation, €38

“I thought this would be very natural, but it’s full coverage. It gives a gorgeous dewy nish that isn’t drying. It has amazing skincare bene ts, goes great with my tan, and you can build it really nicely.”
– Chloe Boucher
