The IMAGE staffers share their favourite foundation

From minimal fuss foundation you can pat on with your fingertips to a more full coverage base that won’t budge, the IMAGE staffers are sharing their current favourites.

I like foundation that’s light on my skin and easy to blend, and my current go-to is Glossier’s Perfecting Skin Tint. It’s quite sheer, so you can simply put a little on with your fingers for light coverage, or build it up more if needed. My skin can tend to be a little oily, so I have stayed away from dewy foundations in the past, but this one doesn’t make me look too shiny.

I am loving Skintuition Foundation from Poco Beauty. It gives glow and light coverage, it’s super easy to apply and leaves me feeling like myself without any cakey residue. It’s especially gorgeous over Poco Universal Glow Treatment… 10/10!

Emily O’Neill, Marketing Account Executive

It’s no surprise that when I’m asked to pick my favourite foundation I can never choose just one. I’m the type of person that has a specific foundation for different occasions/events. I have very oily, spot prone skin so how it’s looking and feeling on a particular day determines what foundation I’ll use.

At the moment I am loving Poco Beauty’s Skintuition Foundation which has a gorgeous buildable formula. If I want a sheerer finish I mix it with my Universal Glow Treatment, also from Poco Beauty. It leaves the most gorgeous healthy glow on the skin and feels like you have nothing on at all. My go-to occasion foundation has to be Aura Skin from KASH Beauty. It is one of the most stunning foundations I have ever used and I honestly don’t know what I did without it before it was released last year. Again, it is extremely buildable but still has a natural looking finish. It is the one foundation I always get asked about when I am wearing it. It leaves you looking glowy and radiant but it can also be mattified with a powder if you like that look.

Finally, I couldn’t speak about my favourite foundation without including Sculpted by Aimee. They are a brand that just nailed every single base product they have ever released and I am not ashamed to admit that I have a very large stash of HydraTint in my drawers. It is a makeup/skincare hybrid that is magic on the skin. It is definitely one of my most used makeup products and if it is ever discontinued I will need several months to recover.

When it comes to foundation, I have two go-tos – one that’s slightly heavier and long-lasting, and another that’s lighter for everyday wear. For nights out, special events, or those long days when I need my makeup to last from early in the morning well into the night, NARS Radiant Longwear Foundation has been the one since I was 15. It covers everything without ever feeling or looking cakey, it genuinely lasts all day and night, and the shade match is perfection. I still haven’t found anything that compares.

For daytime or those ‘no makeup makeup’ days, I’m obsessed with Sculpted by Aimee’s HydraTint. It’s super lightweight but gives you that gorgeous, glowy “your skin but better” finish.

Katie Brady, Marketing & Memberships Executive

My favourite foundation is not so much a foundation, but a tinted moisturiser. I wear Sculpted by Aimee’s Tint and Glow in shade 1.0 (of course). It is so light weight and perfect for my dry, sensitive skin. Poco Beauty’s Skintuition Foundation has recently caught my eye and people are raving about it, so I am excited to try that next.

Sarah Gill, Features Editor

I feel like I’ve found my forever favourite foundation in the form of Sculpted by Aimee’s Second Skin Dewy Foundation. I repurchased it for the third time last week, which feels like a real relationship milestone for this foundation and I. It’s medium coverage, so it evens out the skin tone without looking too cakey, and it has this luminosity to it that leaves you with a nice glow. I bang it on with the Sculpted Complexion Duo Brush, which I use for concealing, blushing and contouring too.
