My day in beauty with Rosie Connolly-Quinn: supplements and five-minute make-up

Rosie Connolly-Quinn

In just two weeks, Rosie Connolly-Quinn will be joining Triona McCarthy and Jules Fallon on stage to talk about becoming a beauty influencer at the IMAGE Beauty Festival. In the meantime, she shares her day in beauty, including her five-minute make-up hacks, must-have products and skincare secrets.

“My daily beauty routine is usually the same every day unless I have something special on that day,” says Rosie. “I cleanse, apply my serums, add moisturiser and do my make-up. I have my everyday face down to about five minutes. At a maximum, it’ll take me 10 minutes. I don’t have much time in the morning with two kids now, but since having PhiBrows done with Kim O’Sullivan, my make-up routine is even quicker.”

Everyday make-up

“First, I apply a CC cream or foundation — I love Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, €45. I use bronzer as an eyeshadow and to warm up my face, then blush, highlighter, mascara – usually Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes, €32, and lipstick. It sounds like a lot but it is actually really quick, but if you prefer bare skin and some mascara then rock that. The one thing I wouldn’t go without every day is lip liner.

“I feel like it totally defines my lips and can be used all over the lip to give my face some life. Charlotte Tilbury Rock N’ Kohl eyeliner in Eye Cheat, €25, is a must for any new mums. It’s a nude liner but when you apply it to the waterline, it looks like you’ve had a full nights sleep.

“For my brushes, I use a mix of higher end and more affordable brushes, but Primark have some great affordable brushes. The lipstick I couldn’t be without is MAC in Runaway Hit, €20. It is always in my handbag wherever I go. It’s a gorgeous matte that doesn’t dry the lips and stays put all day.”

“Don’t follow trends. Do what works for you and makes YOU feel confident. If that’s a red lip and lots of liner, then rock it.

Skin secrets

My favourite skincare serum is from ASAP. A mix of vitamins A, B and C together has really helped my skin texture, plus they work to protect against daily pollution and blue light from screens. I find my make-up sits better when I use them too.

“The Advanced Nutrition Skin Accumax supplements, €53, have transformed my skin from the inside out.

“I take two daily and find they keep my breakouts to a minimum. As an acne sufferer, I wouldn’t be without them.”

“Always remove your make-up each night, and water, water, water!

Hair hacks

“My number one hair hack would be to find yourself a hairdresser that knows your hair and looks after it for you and use professional haircare if you can. I find the salon brands much better on my hair and a little goes a long way too. Kevin Murphy Blonde Angel Wash, €24, is a must for any blondes. It keeps the brassy tones at bay and gives you longer between hair salon appointments.

“My favourite tools are the Hot Tools 24k Gold Curl Bar, €125, or the Instyler Max, €99.99. I go between these two tools for styling my hair. They give a gorgeous curl or wave that holds all day.”
