My day in beauty: Lucy Kennedy on why wearing Marigolds is one of her beauty tips…

Lucy Kennedy is one of the soundest people in telly. We’re obsessed with Living With Lucy and although she goes to live with the celebs, we think she’s the real star of the show. We asked her to share her beauty routine with us, and we absolutely ADORE her ultimate makeup tip: get someone else to do it for you…

“I’m very boring!” says Lucy. “I use a Dermalogica face wash in the shower and then I moisturise. I apply hand cream and Vaseline all day, every day, because I’m obsessed, and then at nighttime I just cleanse and moisturise again.”

LUCY’S SKINCARE

Simple Cleanser
Toner… I don’t use one
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Moisturiser
Clarins Double Serum
Any eye cream
Aveeno Hand Cream
Vaseline!!!!! (we get the sense that Lucy likes Vaseline…)

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream (new), €67.80

Clarins Double Serum, €61.20

“I love the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing cream because it smells nice and suits my skin. Hand cream I need now because I’ve got into the habit and my hands get sore if I forget to wear Marigolds when washing up!”

LUCY’S TOP TIP:

“Take your makeup off before you sleep. No matter how many drinks you’ve had or how tired you are, take off your makeup!!”

LUCY’S MAKEUP

Inglot primer and foundation
The Balm Cosmetics mascara
Liner… Rimmel.
The Balm Cosmetics palettes/eyeshadow
Inglot Powder
Any brushes I can get my hands on
Lipgloss… I adore all lipglosses!!!

Inglot Perfect Cover Up Foundation, €33

“Personally, the Inglot foundations really suit my skin as they soak in nicely and I don’t like to look caked. The Balm Cosmetics always have gorgeous colours in their palettes. I’ve been using them for years.

LUCY’S TOP MAKEUP TIP

“Always try and get a professional to do it!”

TIGI Bed Head Salt Spray
Instyler and ghd

LUCY’S HAIR TIP

“I would look frightening if I didn’t straighten my hair with my beloved ghd. And I’m obsessed with beach sprays to get that salty, windy texture. The ‘outside’ look!”
