Your checklist for the 2019 IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards

The tan’s been applied, the Monday’s been booked off work, and finally, the day has arrived. The 2019 IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards takes place tonight in the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road in Dublin, with the festivities kicking off at 6:30 pm sharp.

If you are one of the lucky few heading along – either as a nominee, as a supporter or just to have a great night out – then no doubt you’ve been prepping for a while now. But there’s nothing worse than arriving at the doors of the awards and realising you’ve forgotten something important.

So, as always, the IMAGE team are here to help. Here’s your checklist for #IMAGEBOB19, to make sure you have the best Business of Beauty night ever.

Your phone (and selfie stick)

Essential for co-ordinating taxis, approving outfits and of course, endless selfie-taking tonight. Because if you don’t take a few snaps for the gram, did the night even happen?

A comb and hair clips

No matter how perfectly coiffed your salon ‘do is, there’s always a possibility a follicle disaster will strike. Don’t get stuck avoiding cameras for the night (because there will be a lot of them) — bring along a comb, some hair clips and maybe a small bottle of hair spray to get those tendrils back on track.

Blister plasters

Those stunningly beautiful, but wretchedly painful, shoes will look amazing in photos, but they might get a little uncomfortable as the night goes on. Do yourself a favour and line your bag with a few blister plasters — your feet on the dancefloor at 2 am will thank you.

A lucky mascot

If you or the salon you work for is up for an award tonight, best of luck! It’ll be an exciting evening for everyone, and the announcement of the awards is such an exhilarating night for the nominees — a little good-luck mascot can make all the difference. Whether it’s a group picture of your team, everyone wearing their lucky pair of shoes, or a little piece of the salon, it’ll pull everyone together to cheer as the categories are announced.

Your beauty must-haves

Make-up touch-ups will be an essential part of the night. With drinks flowing, a slap-up meal and (no spoilers) some singing and dancing involved, the Business of Beauty Awards can sometimes wreak havoc on your make-up. But not to worry — beauty gurus like yourselves will have your signature products and must-have essentials planned out for the evening. Not sure what to bring? Why not look at what our IMAGE staffers will have in their bags tonight.

And finally, some great mates

Your workmates will be there to support you, cheer you on if you win and make you laugh if you lose. Make sure to get some photos, keep the group chat kicking and have a fabulous night.

See you at the Clayton!
