The best new spring scents

The season’s newest olfactory options are ripe with fruity and floral notes. Florals? For spring? This time, it’s ground-breaking.

Byredo Unnamed, €187 at Brown Thomas

The nameless Byredo perfume is back. Byredo posits that with named fragrances, customers “experience the fragrance even before they smell the ingredients in the bottle,” so now you can make up your own mind. It comes with stickers so you can personalise as you see fit, and it smells fresh and light, with pink pepper, gin accord, Irish root, balsam fir and moss.

Jimmy Choo Blossom Special Edition, €65 at Boots

An adaptation of the iconic fragrance, Blossom Special Edition by Jimmy Choo is for longer days and balmy nights, with exotic fruits, frangipani flower at the heart, and a base of soft and creamy sandalwood.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Daze, €81 at Arnotts and Brown Thomas

Soft white peach, light orchard blossoms and fresh peach in Daisy Eau So Fresh Daze makes for a fruity, perfectly seasonal scent and, as always with the Daisy by Marc Jacobs scents, the bottle is a joy to behold.

Gucci Guilty Love Edition, €111 at Brown Thomas and Arnotts

What flower makes you think most of spring? Gucci Guilty Love Edition is a tribute to the narcissus flower – or as you and I know it, the daffodil. It’s green and fresh, with bergamot, grapefruit, jasmine, raspberry, violet and musk, and packaged in perfect, hazy retro pink. Spring in a bottle.

Nuxe Prodigieux Le Parfum, €35

Zesty notes of bergamot and orange blossom, sweet and tangy rose and magnolia and creamy vanilla and coconut – Nuxe Prodigieux Le Parfum is a sunny reminder that warmer days are coming.

Jo Malone London Vetiver & Golden Vanilla Cologne Intense, €90 at Brown Thomas

Jo Malone London’s Cologne Intense collection is created using treasured ingredients from around the world. The newest addition, Vetiver & Golden Vanilla, is warm and fresh and combines Madagascar’s two prized ingredients, spiked with cardamom and grapefruit tea.
