Best Hairstylist

Earlier this year, IMAGE beauty editor Liz Dwyer, along with her team, compiled a shortlist of Ireland’s leading beauty professionals (practitioners) and therapists, across ten categories, to make up the inaugural IMAGE Business of Beauty Awards. You can vote for the nominees on here

Categories include Best Hair Colourist; Best Hairstylist; Best Facialist; Best Masseuse; Best Nail Technician; Best Tanning Specialist; Best Wax Therapist; Best Make-up Artist; Best Beauty Salon and Best Skin Clinic.

To give you an idea of the level of skill and expertise in this talented bunch, we’ve compiled a short profile on each, in their respective category. Get the lowdown and pick your fave. But hurry, voting closes Monday, March 10. Race you to it!

Today we introduce the best hairstylist category…

Best Hairstylist

Who do you turn to when you need a chat? Where do you go for the best advice? Your trusty hairstylist, of course. Not only are they the world’s best listeners, they’ll also make your hair as super shiny as your soul. From Dublin to Kerry, with stops in Drogheda and Cork along the way, here is the shortlist for Best Hairstylist ?

Pam Morrissey, Sobe Brown

Pam_Morrissey

A Rebel County native, Bumble and bumble ambassador and owner of Sobe Brown Hair Salon, Pam tends to the tresses of those not only in Cork, but throughout Ireland. We’ve heard certain ladies travel hundreds of miles to sit in the chair of this truly innovative businesswoman.

David Murray, Chameleon

DAVID_MURRAY

Former Irish Hairdresser of the Year, David and his wife Eilish opened Chameleon in Drogheda in 1997 and since then, David has become an industry favourite and a styling supremo.

Sean Taaffe, Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty

Sean_Imageb

From a one-man operation in 1989 to the current stronghold of five salons throughout Kerry, multi-award-winner Sean has South West clients covered. An Alfaparf Fantastic Salon of the Year winner (2012), education is the name of the game at chez Taaffe, a philosophy from which his customers gladly reap the benefits.

Elayne Archbold, Brown Sugar

2_ELAYNE

This dynamic stylist’s eye is as sharp as her scissors, and Elayne has earned her place on the shortlist through years of hard work and creative hairdos. Brown Sugar’s go-to girl will transform you into the best version of yourself.

Pat O?Neill, The Style Suite

Pat_ONeill

Based in the picturesque Brehon Hotel, Killarney and winner of the National Wedding Stylist of the Year (2012), Pat’s reputation precedes him. With a genuine flair for hair, his styles speak for themselves. Known for bringing an air of calm to bustling bridal parties, he’s the guy you need on an important day.

Gerard McLoughlin, Peter Mark
