8 of the best new cleansers for gleaming skin

The best new cleansers are targeted, luxurious, created by beauty's heavy-hitters and designed for much more than cleansing.

Two beauty moguls have birthed new members of their cult favourites – first, Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic family has introduced the Magic Hydration Revival Cleanser, €30, a 3-in-1 priming cleanser for a hydrating post-spa glow. Next, beloved Clinique Take The Day Off now comes in a Cleansing Mousse, €32, a velvety mousse-to-foam formula that thoroughly cleans while refreshing the skin.

For cleansing that feels more luxurious than laborious, the new Doctrine Skincare Divinity Cleansing Balm, €42, is a plant-based butter that melts away make-up, leaving skin soft and fresh while enveloping you in the scent of lavender and citrus.

Aimee Connolly has created another innovative original in her DuoCleanse 2-Step Cleanser, €36. In three formulas to brighten, clarify and exfoliate. Each cleanser has a gentle cleanser on one side and a targeted formula on the other to suit your skin’s individual needs – genius, as per when it comes to anything from her mind. Specialised cleansers are the launch du jour – L’Oréal Paris’ new Bright Reveal Spot Fading Serum–in–Cleanser, €16.99, contains niacinamide and salicylic acid to fade spots, exfoliate and reduce excess oil while brightening and correcting an uneven skin tone, while just landed in Brown Thomas, you’ll find Trinny London’s brilliant refillable cleansers. First is the Be Your Best Enzyme Balm Cleanser, €39, an oil-based balm that melts away everything while leaving your skin balanced, then the Better Off AHA/PHA Gel Cleanser, €34, a deep cleansing gel to gently exfoliate.

Green tea appears to be the ingredient of the moment, a worthy addition to your routine thanks to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. You’ll find it in the new Tatcha Matcha Cleanse, €48.30, a lightly foaming blend of antioxidant-rich kyo-matcha and calming Japanese mugwort, and in Rhode Pineapple Refresh Cleanser, €36, with it’s gentle balm-to-foam formula for Hailey Bieber brightness.
