The best false lashes ever, and why I’ll never stop using them

The best false lashes ever, and why I’ll never stop using them

Saying ‘best false lashes ever’ is a big statement, but I’m willing to make it. I’ve tried countless brands and these ones from Sweed Lashes are by far the best I’ve used…

I’ll admit it. I’m normally a semi-permanent lashes kind of gal. But in between refills, sometimes I like to wear individual falsies. My natural lashes are blonde (read: invisible) and straight, so I need a little extra lift to give me that wide-eyed look I love so much.

I’ve tried ALL the lashes. And there are so many that are amazing. I love Kiss lashes individuals, I really like quite a lot of the Eylure range too. Primark’s little three lash clusters can be good to tide you over as well. But I would like to officially declare my undying love for what I now know to be my ultimate favourite false lashes.

Sweed Lashes Nikki Makeup No Lash-Lash

€24 from sweedlashes.com

Sweed Lashes joined up with my fave Instagram MUA, Nikki Makeup, to create a lash range. These ‘No Lash-Lash’ ones are by far and away the hero of the range, and having bought and tried them recently, I’ll be bulk buying them in case they’re ever discontinued.

Why they’re so good

Let me count the ways. They are whisper thin, the band is virtually invisible and they come in four lengths — from really short (for the corners or lower lash line) to really long (to create a winged out fan).

They are as easy to apply as any individual lashes — there is a knack to it, of course, but with practice it’s straightforward enough. They look like real lashes. Even when you wear no eye makeup at all, you can still barely see them.

But they’re expensive…

While yes, these are pricey (about €24) I’ve managed to get five full lash looks out of one pack. For a natural look, at least, that works out at about €5 per eye, which is less than the price of your average strip lash. For a more dramatic look, you might get three full goes out of a pack, but for the natural-looking result, it’s worth it for me.
