Situated in the picturesque village of Castletownshend, and close to the sea, it’s a truly idyllic spot.

Close to the pier and slipway in Castletownshend in West Cork, The White House is a four-bed home with plenty of character. You enter into a yellow hallway with tiled flooring, leading to a living room on the left. The living room features wooden floors, a stove, and built-in shelving.

To the right of the hallway sits a second living space, both linking to the kitchen and dining room at the back of the house. The kitchen has hand-painted units, a Belfast sink, and granite worktops, while a door from the dining space leads out to a raised patio. There is also a utility room and WC off the kitchen.

On the first floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a dressing room and ensuite. There is also a family bathroom on this level. On the second floor is the main bedroom, a large space complete with its own walk-through wardrobe, generous ensuite and a balcony from which to admire views of the harbour. Another bedroom on this level brings the total to four.

The interiors throughout this home are considered and add much to its character, with rich shades and patterned wallpaper used throughout.

Outside, there is a large, landscaped garden with a stone wall on the street side, affording privacy. There is also a building at the end of the garden that can be used as a boathouse or garage.

Castletownshend is popular for its scenic views, and is also just 10 minutes from Skibbereen, while Cork city is an hour and a half away. Click through our gallery to see more of this home, which is on sale through Sherry FitzGerald.
