This Dublin hotel is putting a Halloween spin on their afternoon tea for one week only

Trick or Treat? We’ll take the latter…

There are few things in this life more sumptuous than catching up with friends and family over afternoon tea in a five-star hotel, and it doesn’t get much more elegant than The Reading Room at the InterContinental Dublin.

Known for their opulent surroundings and views of the beautiful Garden Terrace, the sweet treats and pastries of Head Pastry Chef Orna Larkin and her team are taking on a more terrifying twist throughout the midterm break in honour of Halloween.

InterContinental Dublin

From Monday, October 23 to Tuesday, October 31, a ghoulish afternoon tea offering will be available, with lots of spooky, scary sweet treats and surprises. A lovely treat for meeting friends for a catch-up, family get-togethers or a thoughtful gift idea, you can enjoy the splendour with a novelty twist all while unwinding in front of a cosy open fire.

Choose from a selection of delicate finger sandwiches including smoked Irish salmon and dill cream cheese; lemon-scented chicken salad on brioche navette; egg mayonnaise with smoked paprika on focaccia; and roast beef with truffle mayonnaise and horseradish on multiseed bread; then enjoy the hotel’s famous buttermilk scones with homemade raspberry and mango preserves.

After, you can indulge in a fa-boo-lous array of sweet treats including Pumpkin Panic with pumpkin-spiced panna cotta, ginger sponge and crisp gingerbread; Dark Side of the Moon Chocolate Mousse with miso chocolate shortbread; and Magic & Mysterious mango passionfruit cheesecake.

Halloween Afternoon Tea is offered with a selection of Ronnefeldt Loose Tea or freshly made Bewley’s coffees, or why not sip a devilishly chilled glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne as you sit back in five-star luxury?

InterContinental Dublin

Halloween Afternoon Tea is priced at €62 per person and Perrier-Jouët Champagne Halloween Afternoon Tea is priced at €77 per person. Halloween Afternoon Tea with a signature spooky cocktail is priced at €75 per person.

Children’s Halloween Afternoon Tea is also available featuring Chocolate Cobweb Brownies and Scary Snakey Cupcakes, priced at €21 per child.
