Reversible duvet sets, outdoor fire pits, candles, ceramics and serving plates — the staffers are sharing what’s on their autumn homeware wishlists.

Hannah Monaghan, Art Designer

Autumn is by far my favourite season. There’s something so comforting about the crisp air, golden leaves, and those early, dusky evenings that make you want to curl up indoors. When I spotted this autumnal duvet set from Next, I knew it was the perfect way to bring some cosy seasonal vibes into the bedroom. The best part? It’s reversible, so you get two autumn-inspired looks in one.

As the nights draw in, I always find myself reading more, and my to-be-read pile is steadily growing. These Zara marble bookends are a simple yet chic way to display my current reads, adding a subtle touch of style to the bookshelf.

And of course, no cosy evening is complete without a candle. I’ve been loving the DIPTYQUE Ambre Coloured Scented Candle lately. The warm, woody scent creates that comforting feeling of a log fire gently crackling in the background—even when there isn’t one. It’s the perfect scent to set the tone for a quiet, relaxing night in.

Lizzie Gore-Grimes, Editor-in-Chief

I recently invested in a medium sized outdoor fire pit from The Blue Door and I’m getting so much enjoyment from it. Even if you only have a tiny garden or a mini back patio space, you can buy a small one. Nothing beats the feeling of wrapping up in blankets and sitting outdoors, around an open fire, the wood crackling and the banter flowing. There is something tremendously soothing about watching, and smelling, an open fire. Treat yourself this autumn.

I was at dinner in a friend’s house the other night and admired these clever and beautiful candles from Nordic Elements – no holder needed! They come in all sorts of gorgeous shades too.

A collaboration between young Irish artist Ellie Dunne and renowned Irish knitwear brand IrelandsEye, the Blocks Moss Stitch blanket is a really special and beautiful piece that would make a gorgeous gift. With 10% of the proceeds from the sales of this blanket going to The Together Academy – it’s a gift worth giving.

On my absolute dream wish list would be this original charcoal and paint work on paper drawing by lighting artist Niamh Barry. Niamh’s sculptural lighting pieces are out of this world and it’s exciting to see her moving into art. Available from the stunning Killian McNulty Gallery on Francis Street, which is currently undergoing a complete renovation, so make sure to get in there for a visit.

Love these Christina Lundsteen zig zag cushions from Ecru Studios. The tactile cotton velvet is just to die for, so soft to the touch. John and Karen’s collection of interior pieces in Ecru Studios in the Westbury Mall is such a beautifully curated selection, and excellently priced.

I love making my home feel cosy as autumn draws in, and light at different levels is key for this. I’ll be lighting my Hyggelyset Candle from Nordic Elements for the first time in a while – I love these long-lasting candles that look elegant whether lit or unlit, I’m on my third one. I also have this portable lamp from Zara Home that’s so handy to move around where needed. I’m still on the lookout for more handy lamps for shelves and side tables, and I do love this &Tradition one from Maven. You can also never have too many throws, I recently added this one from Arket to my collection – I’m so pleased to be able to shop their homeware in person now that their store is open in Dublin.

Dominique McMullan, Editorial Director

I’m not the biggest fan of darker days, so with autumn creeping in, I’m hoping to bring some colour and life into my home by adding another piece of art to admire. I’ve been looking at Irish female artists like Lola Donoghue and Iseult McCormack and can’t wait to invest.

I recently came across Australian brand Sage + Clare, and I can’t stop thinking about their Corinne Linen Quilt Cover. In a perfect world, I would love to mix and match the quilt cover with some statement pillow cases, and a clashing print fitted sheet and bed skirt. I understand the ethos of allowing minimalism to reign supreme in your bedroom. I can see how it may well soothe the senses and make room for more restful dream time, but I just love a loud duvet and a mountain of pillows. Sue me!

I’m also in the market for a new incense burner, and I’m torn between the adorable Wee Cottage Incense Burner from Born & Bred (hello, it looks like the smoke is coming from the chimney!) and the Tuile agus Trá Ceramic Incense Burner from Heron & Haven. The design and firing make it look like the frothing ebb and flow of the tide, so maybe that could be my element of stillness in my chaotic bedroom.

In keeping with the seaside theme but this time in the kitchen, I love these Tiny Coastline Plates from Ola Ceramics. Glazed in a mix of colours and textures to reflect the sea crashing on the shore of a sandy beach, and each one is completely unique. Finally, and perhaps most randomly, I really do think I need this Berry Colander by Rosemarie Durr. It would make me feel very chic while cobbling together my breakfast — and isn’t that what life’s all about?

Laura Merrigan, Graphic Designer

I’ve recently added this vinyl to my collection; it’s as beautiful to listen to as it is to look at: A Dawning by Olafur Arnalds and the late Irish artist Eoin French and is the perfect soundtrack for these darker autumn evenings. I’m currently rug shopping to add some warmth and a pop of colour to my bedroom. I’m also a sucker for bright colours and patterns! This Chop Chop rug from Tara Gelatina, is currently in my top three edit:

The graphic designer in me loves these coat hangers from Pieces.ie on Prussia Street; they’ll be a great solution for my current floordrobe! I’m not quite ready for extra tog in my duvet so I’ve been layering this gorgeous blanket on top instead. I loved the colourway and the historical aspect to the rug. I also love the matchbox collections in Article – they make such a lovely addition aesthetically, as well as being practical.

Shayna (Sappington) Healy, Branded Content Editor and Wedding Editor

I’m one of those people who would happily decorate my entire house with seasonal decor, so as autumn arrives in full force, I’m embracing pumpkin spice lattes, warm woolly knits and of course, pumpkins, in all their glorious plump orange forms. I love these super soft brushed cotton sheets, dotted with subtle fall details, these forest green embroidered dish towels and these adorable trick-or-treating ghost ornaments. Finally, I’m always trying different pumpkin spice candles but my favourite this season has been this DW Home one from Homesense with notes of brown sugar and cinnamon – divine!

Melanie Mullan, Acting Deputy Editor, IMAGE Magazine and IMAGE Interiors

I’m slowly working on building my ceramics collection and this 9 Yard Ceramics Butter Dish is next on my list. I love the subtle pops of colour, and it looks so pretty that it can sit anywhere and not look out of place.

For years I never had a proper table for eating at. It was either couch dinners or a bar-style table, which was fine, but I was never one for caring about styling the table for dinner – I did care about the food I served, at least! Now that I do have a table, I’m looking forward to trying my hand at different ways of bringing it to life. I’m torn between the two colours of these Frill Trimmed Tablecloth tablecloths, but think the burgundy will be perfect for the autumn/winter months.

I’m not sure why but I think there’s something quite grown up about having serving platters. They can really be the centerpiece of the table. A Quiet Life studio has some gorgeous vintage pieces in their shop that I am dying to get up and see in person, but I also love the colours in this Oval Serving Platter from Industry & Co.

Doireann Murray, Chief Revenue Officer

The ‘-ber’ months are my favourite time of the year! There is nothing I like more than curling up on the sofa with my dogs under a cosy blanket from Foxford or Avoca while watching a film or reading a good book! A warm house filled with candles is key for me and I am never without them in each room of the house. Max Benjamin’s new Cloves & Cinnamon candle really sets the autumn mood! My comfy slippers from The Little Finery are always on hand and are like a pocket of joy on a cold autumn day!

Ruth Maria, Photographer, IMAGE Magazine

I am currently in the middle of a big renovation of my home, so naturally I am completely consumed with interiors even more than usual! I really love autumn and the colours that you conjure up in your head when you think of the season, so with that I am coveting a painting by the Spanish artist Ramon Enrich, I think one of his pieces would finish off my new extension perfectly. One of his pieces is photographed on the Autumn/Winter cover of IMAGE Interiors in the home of Studio Portobello.

Nordic Elements in Blackrock are brilliant at seasonal pieces that are not kitsch, they have cute little ceramic acorns for the season, mix a couple of these with real acorns and conkers collected from an autumn hike and you have a tasteful table display for yourself.

I have been a fan of Garvan De Bruir for many years and own a few of his leather accessories. He has just launched the Tumbler bag, which I am loving and will add to my wardrobe to elevate any autumn coat or outfit.

For a cosy autumn evening at home I recommend treating yourself to a SINES candle. I have one and it brings me joy just looking at it and it has a gentle aroma.
