Kim Kardashian and Kate Moss ‘catch up’ at the Vatican and we have many, many questions

Kim Kardashian and Kate Moss ‘catch up’ at the Vatican and we have many, many questions

Kim Kardashian joined Kate Moss and her 18-year-old daughter Lila Grace for a private tour of the Vatican.

Kim Kardashian and Kate Moss are apparently on a Roman holiday at the minute, reuniting for a “catch up” at the Vatican of all places. Questions, so many questions.

The first being… what exactly are they doing there?

Well, it seems that no one really knows. The Vatican is cool and all, but it’s not exactly the girl’s trip destination we would have picked for Kimmie, Kate, and her daughter Lila Grace.

Touching down in Italy for business alongside her friend Tracy Romulus, makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic and hairdresser Chris Appleton, Kim joined up with Kate and Lila Grace after the fact. Meeting them outside the Vatican, the trio was greeted by staff before being escorted onto the grounds where they were treated to a two-and-a-half-hour private tour of the place. Learning all about the country’s rich history and taking in some of the stunning artwork, they even attended mass at St Peter’s Basilica.

Opening up several of the private rooms especially for the group – including the 500-year-old office of the Pope and the extensive archive of all the Papal robes (dating as far back as the 1500s) – it’s believed that they were also allowed to help lock up some of the rooms and turn off the lights with security to close the Sistine Chapel.

Wait, Kim and Kate are friends?

It may seem a little out of left field, but a source told E! News that the two have actually known each other “for several years” – first meeting at a birthday party for Burberry designer Riccardo Tisci. Not getting the chance to catch up (probably due to the pandemic and their fiercely busy schedules, you know yourself), their Roman holiday seemed like the perfect time to reunite. “They all seemed like good friends who had plenty to talk about,” the E! News source explained. “They seemed really happy to be able to enjoy some time together and catch up.”

Fashion faux-pas?

A completely independent city-state, the Holy See as it’s often called is the central governing body of the Roman Catholic Church and has quite a strict set of rules that all visitors must agree to – one of those being to dress appropriately. Sleeveless and low-cut garments aren’t permitted. Skirts/shorts/dresses must come down to the knee and women must ensure that their shoulders are covered.

Choosing to ignore the official dress code that the Vatican expects visitors to adhere to, Kim donned a figure-hugging, off-the-shoulder sheer lace number. Complete with midriff-baring cutouts on both sides, the dress was beautiful… albeit a little risky given that entrance to the Vatican museum, the Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica, and the Vatican Gardens is dependent on each guest’s attire.

Kim did cover up in a “long black leather coat” while inside the church and chapel though according to one onlooker, so I guess she was more prepared than we initially gave her credit for. Kate, on the other hand, wore a demure knee-length black dress while Lilaa Grace donned a floor-length satin slip dress and tuxedo blazer.

Making sure to take in several of the city’s top spots, Kim also visited the Colosseum with her glam squad, later stopping off to sample some of the local cuisine.

When in Rome, indeed Kim.
