Ikea’s latest collection is making our thoughts drift to warmer days

Bright tones, neat storage solutions and even the promise of outdoor picnics — this new collection is providing the mental holiday we needed today.

As the days ever so slowly get longer, we’ve been gradually allowing ourselves to look forward to spring days, not wanting to get our hopes up too much.

But then Ikea’s new collection landed in our inboxes, and it was like we could smell that unmistakable change in the air on the first few warmer days after winter.

We may not be there yet, but these pieces promise to inject that feeling into your home, whether or not it’s still freezing outside.

Storage solutions

The collection features several elegant yet simple storage solutions. As our homes have become more important than ever over the last year, having a place for everything really helps your space feel restful and open.

From a plant stand to help us display our favourite items to an open wardrobe that’s perfect for keeping our go-to pieces to hand, there’s plenty of ideas for allowing our personal items to be incorporated into our interiors, ensuring a unique touch.

There’s perfectly practical options too that make use of our often underused wall space. A shelf with added hooks is perfect for anything from coats in a hallway to the bits and bobs that inevitably gather in your bedroom, while neat bags on a rail will hide small items away.

Outdoor dining

The collection also looks forward to days that will be warm enough to eat outside again, and we can’t wait to enjoy our gardens and balconies again. With everything from serving dishes to stools, there’s everything you could need for an alfresco meal.

Even the thought of a simple lunch outside sounds wonderful at the minute, and a few nice serving dishes and accessories would really make it feel special. The collection also features a handy stool that doubles as a side table.

And when we allow ourselves to dream of days when we might be able to have people over, this drinks dispenser would definitely be the star of the show. A good table is also crucial to any outdoor meals so if you haven’t invested yet, Ikea have some great options for you.
