Foreshore access and stunning sea views in this historic West Cork home for sale for €345,000

Want period features, sea views and lots of privacy but didn't think you could afford it? This beautiful six-bedroom, eight-bedroom home on Bere Island, West Cork for sale and ready to move into

Settled on one acre of Bere Island coast is Admiral’s House. Built in the late 19th century by the British army who used the naturally deep and sheltered Castletownbere Bay as a naval base. Accessible only by a short boat ride, there are regular ferries as well as a marina along the foreshore.

Bright and full of period features, the house has been thoughtfully renovated and includes double-glazed windows and an oil-fired central heating system. You enter through the side porch that leads into the main hall and staircase. A long hallway long down along the centre of the house.

To the left are two large living spaces with beautiful Victorian bay windows overlooking incredible views of Castletownbere harbour. One is currently used as living room and the other a dining room. In the middle is a ground-floor bedroom, also with a view, and an ensuite.

Tow the right are the more functional rooms in the house, including an office, a large galley-style kitchen with a walk-in pantry and a large utility room. There’s also a sizeable guest bathroom at the end of the hall.

Upstairs are the rest of the five bedrooms. All five have their own ensuite bathroom. The principal bedroom has its own bay window and a large ensuite and two more overlooking the bay. There’s also another communal washroom and plenty of storage available.

Outside, the house stands prominently, with a large and sheltered garden and shed running adjacent, where there is direct access to the water’s edge protected by a rocky island.
