Dulux have announced their colour of the year for 2023, here’s how to use it in your home

The sunny shade is inspired by warm tones found in the natural world.

It’s always interesting to see how preferred shades come and go in the world of interiors, and one of the best indicators of this is Dulux’s colour of the year.

The paint brand has chosen a shade that they think will be prominent in homes next year, from wall colours to homeware.

For 2023, they have selected Wild Wonder, a warm, positive tone that celebrates and reflects nature.

Wild Wonder brings energy, positivity and connection with the natural world into our living spaces. From the hue of harvest crops to autumn leaves, this shade brings energy, positivity and connection with the natural world into homes.

Dulux Colour Consultant Jane Witter describes the 2023 colour. “Nature is the source of everything in our lives and we are re-evaluating our relationship with the natural world. The name Wild Wonder lends itself to creative expression, the endless possibilities that designing a home and choosing colours presents the inner creative in all of us.  Wild Wonder is a positive, natural tone that, by connecting us with the natural world, can help us feel better in our homes.”

The tone can be paired with other colours in a variety of ways to create a range of moods.

Lush

Combine with forest-inspired shades to create a calm, soothing space. Wild Wonder can serve to brighten darker greens, or complement lighter ones to create freshness.

Flow

Use this shade in combination with seashore tones for a timeless, balanced mood, with a hint of earthiness.

Buzz

Add to meadow inspired shades to create a bright, energising feel. Think the colours of wildflowers: pinks, blues and greens.

Raw

Let Wild Wonder and similar shades take centre stage to give a grounded feel that has plenty of warmth.
