This Cavan hotel is hosting a series of Lodge Sessions this month, with fantastic music and food

Virginia Park Lodge in Cavan is kicking off its series with world-renowned jazz singer Mary Coughlan

As we’re all making plans for local getaways this year, it’s hard not to focus on the parts that are missing. The pub sessions, the live music, the hustle and bustle of city life – we’re all looking to escape 2020 somehow, but it’s hard to find a way to do it.

The perfect escape to a beautiful hotel, where you can enjoy live music, great food and beautiful surroundings seems like a dream for next year. But thanks to the Virginia Park Lodge in Cavan, they’re making it happen this month.

Virginia Park Lodge is launching their Lodge Sessions series this month – a series of outdoor concerts to be enjoyed by patrons with a fabulous dinner and drinks too. The first concert of the series takes place on August 30, and stars none other than world-renowned jazz singer Mary Coughlan.

Coughlan, who has been dubbed ‘the Irish Billie Holiday’ will perform her jazz and blues songbook between 5pm and 7pm, as visitors to the hotel settle in with beer, wine, prosecco and some gorgeous food options.

The private 18th century estate will also be offering accommodation packages for those attending the concert, including the option to stay in their luxurious suites located in the main house or the quirky woodland huts found scattered across the estate.

Of course, if you’re just interested in catching the show, tickets are available for the concert only at €45 per person.

Richard Corrigan, chef at the Virginia Park Lodge, said: “I am so thrilled to have Mary kicking off our Lodge Sessions series at the end of the month. Whether you’re into folk, blues or jazz, you can’t help but be moved by Coughlan’s voice shaped by her extraordinary life. Coughlan has sold out some of the world’s most prestigious venues, so having her play at Virginia Park Lodge is extremely humbling.”

Tickets are available now, but be warned: they’re at very limited availability, so get your orders in quick.
