Think your love life is bad? This Galway event proves it could always be worse

Yes, your love life is bad. But actually, so is everyone else's

Modern dating is hard. Swiping left, swiping right, the ghosting – it can very occasionally be fun, but really most of the time, it's hell. The date that asked you to pay for the speeding ticket, the one who brought vitamins on your second date because he thought your skin and hair "looked a bit dull," that's right, the love lives of others can often be much, much worse than yours.

In solidarity with all those painfully awful experiences and just to prove that each and every one of us is never truly alone, Story Party, a live event at which you will hear true dating stories that will make you life and cry in equal measure will help restore your fragile dating ego. You'll hear stories from professional storytellers and some brave audience members, all of whom are offered to submit their stories (both hilarious and horror-filled) for the listening pleasure of attendees.

The group, who organise events in around 65 countries worldwide, just finished two nights in The Sugar Club in Dublin and are now bringing the fun and games to Galway on November 13th.

How it works

If you're dying to share your story,  you can write it down on their casual confessions slips on the night, anonymously. The Story Party team will read them out loud so you don't have to. Or you can submit your #WorstDateStory anonymously before the event at http://storyparty.net and if it makes organisers giggle it'll be read at the show or put it on their Instagram.

The event is open to everyone, single, self-partnered, or coupled up, you just buy your tickets, show up on the night and enjoy. You also don't have to submit your stories if you don't want (because saying it out loud makes it all too real) but it might make you feel a hell of a lot better.
