These flavourful and nutritious breakfasts are a great way to start your day off.

When it comes to breakfast, it can be hard to stay creative, especially first thing in the morning. Forego the usual porridge and fried eggs routine for a healthier, tastier alternative.

These inspired breakfast recipes may be low in calories but you’d never know it from how amazingly scrumptious they are.

Green Shakshuka

A greener take on a North African classic, this recipe combines green veggies with eggs, chili, cumin and garlic – a great way to spice up your morning. (Olive Magazine)

Mushroom hash with poached eggs

Made with closed-cup mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, eggs and omega seeds, this breakfast combo is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and zinc, beneficial for your heart and skin. (BBC GoodFood)

Rhubarb breakfast pots

Take advantage of rhubarb season with these low-cal, protein-rich breakfast pots. Just combine non-fat greek yoghurt with roasted rhubarb, coconut chips, toasted oats and honeyed hazelnuts. (Olive Magazine)

Ultimate breakfast burrito

This healthy breakfast burrito is made of turkey bacon, sweet potato, eggs, peppers, spinach and cheese wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. And, it’s ideal for batch making and freezing. All you have to do is take it from the freezer and microwave for three minutes. (Tasty)

Banana oatmeal pancakes

Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to compromise on taste. These healthy pancakes are gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free and flourless, but they’re so fluffy and delicious, you can’t tell! (Ambitious Kitchen)

No bake vegan flapjacks

These scrumptious breakfast bars are made with dates, peanut or almond butter, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, agave syrup, oats and roasted almonds. Super easy to make and great for when you’re on the go. (Olive Magazine)
