Zooey Coins Modical

We’re big Zooey Deschanel fans. First there was?Elf with Will Ferrell and then somewhere in between releasing the type of albums that are the perfect Saturday soundtrack she starred in instant anti-date classic?(500) Days of Summer. She then went on to be crowned sitcom queen with her show?New Girl and now she’s adding ?fashion designer? to her singer/songwriter/actress bow.

A few months ago we wrote the starlet teaming up with Tommy Hilfiger for a capsule collection called ?To Tommy, From Zooey?. The result? A match made in flirty dress heaven. ?I am a fashion fanatic and always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe. Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations?old school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons?and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece.? Deschanel explains.

The palette covers Hilfiger’s signature red, white and blue. Deschanel describes the 1960s-mod-meets-nautical look of the dresses as ?Modical? and thus a trend was born. Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy shapes look set to dominate the summer. For a look at the collection see Zooey and Tommy at work in his studio in the clip below. To shop the collection visit?tommy.com

Meanwhile check out one of the red numbers in action as Zooey ‘crashes’ Seth Rogen’s Saturday Night Live episode.
