Sandra Bullock on the red carpet.
Last month we learned that Robert Downey Jr. reigned when it came to the highest earning actors in Hollywood and today it’s ladies second with Forbes announcing the top ten highest earning actresses. Sandra Bullock came out on top thanks to her amazing turn in the space station thriller Gravity with Forbes estimating she earned $51 million last year. Jennifer Lawrence surprised no one when she came in second place with $34 million – being the lead in the Hunger Games franchise does that to a girl. Jennifer Aniston made $31 million last year with stalwarts such as Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz also making the list. Kristen Stewart also found herself rounding out the list in tenth spot.
When it comes to gender partity though things are still a little bit uncool. The top earning actors list was worth $419 million while the women only bring $226 million to the table. However one pretty cool trend emerging from this year’s list is the age demographic of the actresses. Six of the ten listed are over 39.
- Sandra Bullock $51 million
- Jennifer Lawrence $34 million
- Jennifer Aniston $31 million
- Gwyneth Paltrow $19 million
- Angelina Jolie $18 million
- Cameron Diaz $18 million
- Scarlet Johansson $17 million
- Amy Adams $13 million
- Natalie Portman $13 million
- Kristen Stewart $12 million
