Watch: The Trailer For The Harry Potter Prequel Is Here

Fans of Harry Potter and/or Eddie?Redmayne, this will make your evening. For those that wept?once the magical antics of Daniel Radcliffe and co came to an end, rejoice because the journey isn’t over just yet. In fact, it’s going right back to the very beginning.?The trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, J.K. Rowling’s next?outing into the world of?fantasy?is here, and it contains everything one could hope for. A dashing Eddie Redmayne with a?briefcase full of magical creatures? Check. Our own Colin Farrell brandishing a wand? Check.?Many are touting the film as a follow-up to the famous wizard movie, which if you’re going by film order it is, but technically this is incorrect as the film takes place 70 years before Harry’s story begins, so it’s as close to a prequel as we’re going to get.

Oscar-winner?Redmayne plays?Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who comes to New York with a magic case full of creatures. Hardcore Potter fans will instantly recognise the name, as the author of one of Harry’s first-ever school books at Hogwarts.?Set in New York, the film is the first of a trio set to be released, and the script for its initial?outing was written by Rowling herself (making her screenwriting debut), so you know it is going to be good. It will surely be strange to witness a magical realm that doesn’t contain Radcliffe, but perhaps a fresh take on the world of wizardry is just what is needed.

The film comes out November 18, 2016, and we’re excited already.
