Watch: Gemma Collins in Orange is the New Black, yes you read that correctly

Watch: Gemma Collins in Orange is the New Black, yes you read that correctly

Do our eyes deceive us? Is that photo-shopped? Or is that Gemma Collins of TOWIE fame, sitting with the cast of Orange is the New Black?

We never thought we would see the words ‘Gemma Collins’ and ‘Orange is the New Black’ in the same sentence, nevermind on screen. However, the Essex native is making a very special appearance at Litchfield in a new promo for season 6 of the hit series.

In the teaser, the former TOWIE star joins inmates Taystee, Crazy Eyes, Cindy and Ruiz proclaiming to them “I am the Queen of England but you can call me Gemma”. The inmates quickly realise who she is, reminding the self-titled ‘Queen’ of her past stints on I’m a Celebrity and Celebs Go Dating.

Prior to the release of the promo, Collins teased fans with an Instagram post which read: “We’re not in Essex anymore”. In the picture, she sticks to her glamourous TOWIE roots by wearing an embellished orange prison jumpsuit.

This might come across as a slightly odd collaboration, but OITNB might be on to something. Social media loves Gemma Collins. Lately, she’s been the Queen of the Meme, with various pictures and videos of the reality TV star doing the rounds across Facebook and Twitter. The funny, light-hearted video has certainly created a conversation and while we are pretty sure Gemma Collins won’t be making an actual appearance in OITNB, it’s added to the anticipation for the new series which debuts on Netflix on the 27th of July.
