Follow us as we take a tour of the boldly designed new The Weir Laboratory, located on Castle Market, in the heart of Dublin’s Drury Street creative district.

IMAGE staffers Meghan Killalea and Hannah Stapleton recently stopped into Dublin’s newest jewellery destination – The Weir Laboratory – and were pleasantly surprised by its contemporary, relaxed atmosphere. Rather than replicating the traditional, sometimes intimidating experience often associated with fine jewellery shopping, this conceived space encourages exploration and self-expression while browsing.

“Window shopping around Drury Street is always a treat, as it’s swiftly becoming one of Dublin’s most cultural and exciting hubs,” says IMAGE staffer Meghan Killalea. “However, you can’t help but take your window shopping in-store with Weir & Sons’ brand new The Weir Laboratory.

“The store itself, with its architecturally beautiful facade and inviting staff, is nothing short of stunning, and is packed full of standout pieces,” continues Meghan. “We were shown the engagement collection, and as someone who knows a huge number of friends and family getting engaged, I was blown away by their selection. The bevelled rings in particular stood out to me, especially if you’re looking for something a little more unique.”

Offering an array of pieces for all price points, Meghan and Hannah perused the display cases at their leisure before heading upstairs to their modern lounge area to try on their favourite pieces, where customers are encouraged to experiment, layer and style jewellery to suit their own aesthetic.

“I think jewellery is a key item in any outfit, and high-quality pieces are so important,” says Hannah. “I have always loved dressing up my clothes with a collection of fun pieces. Nestled on Castle Street, just off Drury Street, The Weir Laboratory is the perfect stop on any trip.”

From international name brands to cult-favourite vintage pieces, the shop carries it all, including vintage Cartier, Gucci, Goossens Paris, Alex Monroe, STATEMENT Paris, Shaun Leane and Weir Collection Lab Diamonds.

Alongside these, the store also stocks an expertly sourced edit of vintage watches, engagement rings, wedding rings and fine jewellery, with each piece standing out for its creativity, craftsmanship and individuality.

“Their vintage collection is truly impeccable,” says Hannah. “As someone who grew up dreaming of diamonds and sparkles, getting to try on some one-of-a-kind pieces was very special. I’ll absolutely be back!”

Combining the heritage and craftsmanship that Weir & Sons are known for with this new contemporary space, The Weir Laboratory offers a new perspective – one that feels expressive and distinctly modern.

Make sure to drop into The Weir Laboratory to experience the sparkles for yourself.
