On Thursday, April 6th,?guests and makeup buffs were invited to meet celebrity makeup artist?Christine Lucignano?at Arnotts Style Sessions?in The Beauty Hall in Arnotts.

“Real beauty is about what brings you joy.” A sentence that summed up what was an incredible masterclass in beauty hosted by renowned celebrity makeup artist?Christine Lucignano. The jam-packed Style Me Pretty event was the first of the hugely successful Arnotts Style Sessions held last week, and first up, it was all about as Christine described it, “generational beauty.”

“Beauty transcends?any age,” said the makeup maestro and together with Digital Director of IMAGE Publications?Ellie Balfe,‘she took to the stage to show an enthusiastic, thoroughly?engaged audience how using the right beauty?products can transform any woman – at any age – into the best version?of themselves. ?And yes, though using a cult beauty product (or three or four) certainly helps the whole process, Christine stressed that real beauty was about embracing true individuality and highlighting the best parts of yourself – using a bit of war paint to get there.

Luckily, we couldn’t have asked for a more deft, experienced hand to makeover three beautiful models of various ages – Christine is a true artist of beauty with over three decades in the industry – and her personality was as infectious and as bubbly as the many glasses of prosecco?consumed on the night. It was, she said, time to bring the “joy back into makeup,” but before picking products, it was important to perfect your skin, the basis of canvas you’d be applying them to. And it all begins with skincare: “The right skincare is doing all the hard work underneath. Good cleansing sounds so boring, but it’s so important. Pay attention to your generation in skincare. What you do in your twenties you’ll see on your face in 10 years,” she advised.

Christine’s must-haves included a serum, eye cream, SPF, foundation, concealer – “a top concealer for any age is Mac Pro Longwear Concealer” – ?and she’s very partial to a great blusher of the cream variety, citing Lancome and Bobbi Brown as favourite brands in her kit.

And then it was time for audience participation; any beauty dilemmas or concerns, Christine was on hand to solve. ?A favourite quote of the night came when she was asked about how to define eyebrows and in her professional opinion, less is definitely more: “If the brow enters the room 40 minutes before you do, it’s a bit of a problem!” which was dutifully?noted by all.

And the end of an entertaining and informative beauty session guests walked away armed with gorgeous goodie bags and extra insights – another plus was that all attendees could shop in Arnotts every product used by Christine during the live demonstrations?- ‘ready to put into practice at home.
