‘I’m so incredibly proud of my wife’: Prince Harry opens up about royal birth

It’s been little over an hour since the birth of Baby Sussex was confirmed by the royal family. Here’s what Prince Harry said about the news…


Earlier today, the royal family confirmed the birth of Baby Sussex; the first-born child of newlyweds Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

In a statement shared via Instagram, they said, “We are pleased to announce that their royal highnesses the duke and duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6, 2019.

“Their royal highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs, 3oz.,” they said, adding, “The duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thanks members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives”.

Prince Harry

Now, approximately an hour after the royal birth was confirmed, Prince Harry has opened up about his new son.

“I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy earlier this morning – a very healthy boy,” he said during a press conference. “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.

“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.

“We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there.”

Harry went on to say, “‘I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As any father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing… but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I’m just over the moon”.

The Duke of Sussex went on to say they have not settled on a name yet, but that it’s the next thing on their agenda. He added that he and his wife plan to share more information about their baby over the coming days.
