Unless you’ve been living in a fashion no man’s land – think that place with all the ghosts and marshy air in The?Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King – then you know Penneys slash Primark is about to launch its gonna-be-huge US operation. While the brand has steadily built a stellar reputation these last few years with the opening of various European stores, conquering the States is going to be another exciting matter entirely. It’s a crowded place, that cradle of capitalism, but it helps that Primark is already making important pals.
Centuries ago, travellers traversed continents with the help of introductory letters from approving dignitaries, nowadays it helps to have an Instagirl and various other internet pals in your corner. On Wednesday night, Primark assembled a crack team of such influencers with an intimate dinner party thrown by Refinery 29 in New York to celebrate the fashion giant’s arrival in the US. Actress, model and IMAGE.ie fashion crush Emily Ratajkowski hosted the evening, welcoming a parade of fashion insiders such as model Ashley Smith, Andi Dorfman from ?The Bachelorette? and Danielle Bernstein, founder of top US blog WeWoreWhat to the brand we all adore. The?We are Your Friends actress wore some seriously sexy items from the Primark fall collection – that side split black pencil skirt with a high-necked crop top? Autumn/Winter glamour in one affordable package. Emily, who has Irish roots thanks to her grandparents, has been a longtime fan of Primark, and shopped here when she lived in Dublin. Her favourite item? “I loved buying the denims there. It’s really great that it’s opening in the US and bringing European trends at such an affordable price.?
Primark’s first U.S. store will open at Downtown Crossing in Boston on Thursday, September 10th. Any Irish readers based in Boston excited?
