Marc Jacobs’ Models Wore No Make Up

Marc Jacobs’ Models Wore No Make Up

Marc Jacobs was one of the closing shows of New York Fashion Week and the designer saved the best (headline grabbing antics) for last when he sent his army of models down the runway without make up. Fran?ois Nars of NARS Cosmetics was backstage perfecting the girls for the runway, however not one contouring brush was to be seen as he prepped the models? faces with only mosturiser. Nars spoke to Elle.com about the decision, confessing he was ?probably the only makeup artist in the world who also loves women with no makeup?. The result was stunning in its simplicity – and it’s always nice to see the fashion industry acknowledge the existence of pores. Completing the shiny-nosed looks were the requisite Marc Jacobs show wigs – this season bobbed with blunt fringes.

After years of primer, tan, concealers and now ?blur? products, might we be seeing a skincare revolution? After all the #nomakeupselfie took social media by storm earlier this year and #iwokeuplikethis is an ode to the flawless morning face – see Lena Dunham’s amusing contribution below.

In the meantime if you’re not brave enough to drop the make up entirely might we suggest a lighter arsenal of foundation – the eternally popular Le Teint Touche ?clat with some of it’s accompanying highlighter in Concentre D?Or is an Image.ie favourite.

Would you dare to bare?
