Madonna is always in the news; see The Cape Incident for last year’s headline stealer. However this time the pop music dame is dominating column inches for an enormously personal matter: that of her relationship with her children, particularly her son Rocco.

Page Six and various other outlets are reporting about the current strife between her and Rocco, her son with English filmmaker Guy Ritchie. Sources told the New York Daily News that Rocco and Lourdes, Madonna’s 19-year-old daughter with Carlos Leon, both ?crave stability? and aren’t too happy with Madonna’s tendency to embark on global tours that never seem to end. There’s also her oversharing habits on Instagram. The mother-of-four constantly uploads photos of her children, some we suspect a teenage boy would not be happy with.

15-year-old Rocco has even gone so far as to basically move out of their New York home and move in with his father. He left New York before Christmas to spend time with his three half-siblings, stepmother and father in the United Kingdom and hasn’t come home yet. Madonna, who also has two adopted children David and Mercy, is so frustrated with his behaviour she went to the Manhattan Civil Supreme Court seeking a ruling demanding her son return home before school starts again. Rocco has made no moves and a court date has been set aside in early February to resolve the issue.

Another source has said that Rocco’s frustration stems from the fact wherever his mother goes, a circus of publicity and hanger-ons follow. There’s also the issue of a very strict diet which Madonna enforces. The children are forbidden from eating chocolate, dairy products, salt and preservatives. ?When he’s in England, [Rocco] gets to live a low-key life . . . He can go about his business and talk to girls without paparazzi stalking him, as Guy has carved out a pretty private existence for his family,??the source said. Meanwhile, Rocco has reportedly blocked his mother on Instagram and posted comments to social media network implying he has no plans to leave England.

It’s a very public private dispute.
