Like Karl Lagerfeld, we’re huge fans of Kristen Stewart, the actress who has managed to become one of the most critically acclaimed talents of her generation in spite of five Twilight movies dominating her early CV.
She takes on challenging roles and isn’t afraid of dividing her time between arthouse fare such as The Clouds of Sils Maria?with blockbuster franchises like Snow White and the Huntsman. She’s also excellent on calling out the industry, telling Harper’s Bazaar some months ago, ?Hollywood is disgustingly sexist. It’s crazy. It’s so offensive it’s crazy. Women inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard.” And now she’s telling the media to get over itself when it speculates on her romantic life.
Stewart has been in a relationship with visual-effects producer Alicia Cargile for the past few months. When paparazzi photos of the couple emerged much was made of the fact Alicia is a woman. The 25-year-old actress has had to field questions about her sexuality since. She talks about the storm surrounding who she chooses to date in the September issue of the Nylon.
?If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it. But I am an actress, man. I live in the f***ing ambiguity of this life and I love it. I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ?I’m coming out!?? she explains when she talks about not labeling herself. ?Until I decide that I’m starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receive. I don’t. I’m just a kid making movies.?
As for her relationship with Cargile, Stewart is to the point, ?Google me, I’m not hiding.? Now that’s an answer that’s a million times better than the usual volley of vagueness other young starlets trot out when it comes to probing questions.
When talking about how society talks about sexuality in general, Stewart adds: ?I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it’s necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing.?
And what about Robert Pattinson, her former boyfriend and Twilight co-star? Well, Kristen had this to say, ?That’s not something I would ever talk to the fucking public about?that’s crazy.?
