Is This Pink Valentino Gown Our Favourite Royal Wedding Dress Ever?

Is Valentino about to become the go-to atelier for the most beautiful wedding dresses of all? First they dressed Sophie Hunter for her ?low-profile? island wedding to Benedict Cumberbatch. And now they’re rewriting the rules in Monaco after Beatrice Borromeo chose a pale pink dress of theirs for her wedding to Grace Kelly’s grandson and young royal Pierre Casiraghi last Saturday.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, the fashion house posted the below photo of the young couple at the Prince’s Palace in Monte Carlo. The caption read: ?The House of Valentino is pleased to announce that Beatrice Borromeo wore a Valentino Haute Couture dress designed by Creative Directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, for her civil wedding with Pierre Casiraghi on July 25th at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco. The wedding gown was created in a pale pink and gold lace silk chiffon.?

Doesn’t it look stunning? We love when a famous bride goes with something different. Much as we love a simple white dress, they can get a little bit tiresome. Other ?celebrity? brides who have decided to spurn virginal white for a shade of pink include Gwen Stefani, Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon and Anne Hathaway (who also wore Valentino). For the evening celebration at the H?tel de Paris, Beatrice changed into another floor-length Valentino dress, this time a more traditional white. And apparently the couple will have another wedding ceremony in Italy in the coming weeks, so expect another Valentino dress. It it ain’t broke.

Beatrice Borromeo, 29, is an heiress and Italian aristocrat of sorts and has been dating Pierre Casiraghi, Princess Caroline’s son and seventh in line to the throne, for the past seven years. They met while studying in Milan together.
