Get OFFSET

You’ve been hearing about OFFSET a lot and you’re ready to commit harakiri. But maybe you’re inclined to dip a toe or sink a tooth into the much-hyped slickarama that is this impressive design conference. Here’s a digest of the things going on in the sped-up bustle as we near kick-off on March 21st?ORALITH_ROSS_002

  • Absolut’s #transformyourcity Currently already taking place with pop-up installations, workshops, demonstrations, and acts of irreverence all over the city. ?#transformyourcity will see – Maser giving out tote bags on Moore St; Orlaith Ross hosting a printing demonstration; Designgoat building and hosting a popup restaurant in a secret location; Niall Sweeney & Panti installing discoballs for the length of Capel Street, and The Project Twins & Toe Jam will be creating an installation for The Bernard Shaw. Keep an eye on this? brigade as things are fluid and could take many an unexpected turn. Use the hashtag #transformyourcity
  • Souvenir Art Trail Setting up temporary exhibitions in 5 caf’s including Ness, Kaph, Clement & Pekoe, Tamp & Stitch and The Winding Stair Bookshop, Steve McCarthy’s Souvenir sees two artists exhibited per space in a call and response fashion, addressing what the question ?are you coming or going?? means to them in the era of eternal emigration and nostalgia. Cheeky culinary treats will be provided along the way by Gruel Guerilla, with 300 prints available for €10 within the first 100 minutes.?bill
  • Chasing The White Whale The champions of all things kooky, Hunt & Gather are back with a print exhibition on the theme of ?chasing the white whale?, the phrase that describes efforts at trying to track down Bill Murray. Enigmatic and eccentric, the actor doesn’t have an agent, doesn’t do email nor does he own a mobile phone, and can only be reached via hotline. Artists are invited to interpret freely the inexorable man that is Bill Murray.
