Feeling stressed? Escape to Ireland’s new five-star yoga retreat

We all need a bit of ‘me time’ every now and again; a chance to unwind the mind and stretch the body beyond the usual confines of our desks. If work has gotten a bit mental and the kids are driving you mad, consider treating yourself to a relaxed, girly getaway.

Don’t bother packing your flight-friendly toiletries, though – a five-star luxury spa is only a car ride away. Nestled in over 100 acres of lush countryside, Monart Destination Spa in County Wexford is the perfect escape. The world-renowned retreat has a new seasonal offering called Summer Yoga Daze, and it promises to leave you feeling healthier as well as relaxed. If you haven’t booked a weekend break yet, this might be the one for you.

What does it involve?

Monart’s new wellness and pamper package includes Hatha yoga, an ancient practice involving gentle movements, body awareness, strength-building and increased flexibility. The combination of different postures and breathing exercises are designed for all levels of yoga practitioners – so don’t fret if you’re a beginner. It’s all about easing the mind, and you’ll learn to withdraw from external distractions through meditation.

Guests can avail of a two-night Summer Yoga Daze stay with a choice of two Hatha yoga sessions. Classes are on offer every second day at 8 am and at 4 pm, with all equipment provided. Guests are also invited to wander through the extensive Thermal Suite and attend one of the many complimentary exercise classes.

Monart fitness programmes are tailored to individual needs, ensuring that guests enjoy exercise, obtain results and stay motivated. Guests can also enjoy the on-site 3km ‘The Gallops’ walk with outdoor jackets and boots are available from the Monart boot-room.

The Summer Daze retreat is about more than exercise, though. The two-night break includes accommodation in a spacious deluxe room, a sumptuous breakfast each morning, a Detox Algae Body Scrub, an Organic Luscious Salt Glow, a choice of either a manicure or pedicure, yoga and exercise classes, plus dinner on one evening at the award-winning in-house restaurant. It’s priced at €429 per person sharing midweek and €469 per person sharing on weekends.

Not the worst way to banish the midweek blues, eh?

Monart is an adult only destination spa offering luxurious accommodation, award-winning food and a spa consistently named as one of the best in the world. Summer Yoga Daze is on offer from May to August 2018. For more information, see monart.ie
