Electric Run

Electric Run

So, it seems one of the most pressing thoughts in my mind at the moment is will I run the Electric Run on March 22nd in an illuminated tutu. Because it’s an option.

The new, night time event, involves running, walking and/or dancing your way through 5km of illuminated, neon ?worlds?. We’re talking glow-in-the-dark structures, inflatables, projections and decorations to enthrall participants as they work their way around the RDS grounds in Ballsbridge, Co. Dublin. There’s music too ??lots of it as you run around, and then it all cranks up further with a big rave at the finishing line.

Participants are encouraged to tog out in neon, so much so that each entry number comes with a glow stick, glow in the dark glasses and an LED bracelet, but that’s just the start. You are encouraged to add luminous paint, flashing ears, wings and, of course, the aforementioned tutu. Check the beautiful, young things on electricrun.ie for further inspiration, and source special event merchandise from elverys.ie (the event sponsors). ?If you’ve never been to Ibiza, this will be the next best thing.

The Electric Run concept originates in the USA and is now spreading across Europe. The event is totally family friendly, with kids of all ages welcome, and no charge for under-sevens.

It’s something totally new, and a great change from plodding around the identikit courses in The Phoenix Park. With kick off at 7:30pm on the Saturday night, it’s the perfect party aperitif.

Reach for the lasers people!

Electric Run, in association with Elverys happens on Saturday March 22. See electricrun.ie for more.
