Desperately Seeking Susan

Desperately Seeking Susan

Want to defuse after Valentine’s with a tale of sisters doing it for themselves and amnesia? Hollywood Babylon have you sorted. This Saturday they’re screening the Madonna and Rosanna Arquette classic, oh yes classic, Desperately Seeking Susan in the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield. What more could you want? Madonna plays a free spirit whose vagabond lifestyle catches the eye of bored yuppie pastel wearing housewife Arquette admidst a rough-and-ready New York. Add in a denim jacket mix up, a bang on the head, some memory loss, jewellery theft, our very own Aidan Quinn, one of the best 1980s soundtracks and you’ve got the best excuse for cancelling all other plans this Saturday.

Hollywood Babylon have been dedicating themselves to ‘disreputable? films for quite some time and always manage to put a fun twist on the classics. The fun twist is cocktail specials and music beforehand. So go on. Get down to Dublin 7 and dance for inspiration.

To keep up to date with Dublin’s premier Midnight Movie Club follow Hollywood Babylon on Facebook.
