Cheryl Cole Ties The Knot In Secret

Surprise! The famous singer and style icon Cheryl Cole has revealed via?Facebook that she tied the knot earlier this month to her French boyfriend Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

Revealing a mammoth rock-sized diamond to her five million followers on Facebook this morning, she wrote, “I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news… Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14. ?We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together.” Her post has since garnered almost a quarter of a million ?likes?.

The private low-key wedding might seem surprising for Cole, whose last wedding to footballer Ashley Cole was a very public affair widely covered in the media. That marriage, however, ended in divorce four years ago and it seems that the singer sought a more secluded setting for this second marriage, reportedly marrying in a private ceremeony on a beach on the Caribbean island of Mustique with just four guests in attendance, including Cole’s mother, Joan Callaghan.

Although we can’t say we’re not curious to see what the bride wore, this marks a recent trend of popular figures such as singers, actresses and style icons opting to marry in secret away from the public glare, which is a welcome and humble change from the usual media circus weddings have come to be.
