From bohemian fashion exhibits to political artwork, here are the events that should be top of your to-do list this month.?


Out Of This World

One of New York’s most iconic fashion designers, Anna Sui’s work spans more than three decades, and Tim Blanks? new book, The World of Anna Sui (Abrams, approx €36), out May 30, explores her lifelong engagement with fashion archetypes, such as the rocker, the schoolgirl, the goth and the bohemian, and reveals their inspiration and influence, with more than 280 pages of delicious photographs of Sui’s sketches, moodboards, shoots, and runway looks. And it’ll make quite the accompaniment to The Fashion and Textile Museum of London’s exhibition, The World of Anna Sui, May 26 to October 1, ftmlondon.org.

Picture Perfect

Dublin’s Oliver Sears Gallery pays tribute to the late Irish artist Barrie Cooke with an intimate exhibition of his works spanning 50 years. Works from the Studio runs until June 22 and features a stunning collection of paintings, watercolours and drawings, oliversearsgallery.com.

Living Through His Music

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since we lost our lovely Prince, but there it is? While we still get weepy when our favourite anthem catches us off guard on the airwaves, we can try to heal by celebrating his memory, his image and most importantly, his music. June 23 sees the release of Purple Rain in deluxe (two-CD) and deluxe – expanded (three-CD) form, so get ordering.
