While mainstream print plays tug-of-war with the furiously fast-paced internet, the era of independent publishing is surely resurrecting from the ashes. Whether you’re a feminist powerhouse or simply a dedicated follower of fashion, there’s a zine for that. Here are our top five independent zines right now.
THE GENTLEWOMAN
This is the flag-bearer for contemporary, independent publishing. The bi-annual zine offers an intelligent and sophisticated perspective on lifestyle, culture, and fashion. It also features the superb Saoirse Ronan on its AW15 cover.
POLYESTER
Created by creative goddess Ione Gamble in her London flat, Polyester explores?female curiosity in all its forms and has been named as “one to watch” by The Guardian.

An indie and online print magazine that focuses on emerging talents in fashion, culture and design from around the world, Pitch Zine was established in Australia, and although still in it’s infancy, wants to “remain one step ahead”.
