A dinner celebrating IMMA’s 30th birthday took place in a magnificent glass Orangerie in the 17th-century Courtyard of the Irish Museum of Modern Art. IMMA’s Director, Annie Fletcher, welcomed back IMMA’s three former Directors and guests from the Irish and international arts, fashion, media and business worlds for a very special evening of fine dining.

Culture vultures and art lovers stepped out in style for the Irish Museum of Modern Art’s 30th birthday dinner this week.

When was it?

Wednesday, 23 November.

Where was it?

Why were we there?

Founded in May 1991, IMMA has been serving the Irish public for over three decades now. Forced to postpone initial 30th birthday celebrations last year due to lockdown and stringent Covid restrictions, Director Annie Fletcher and the rest of the IMMA team were delighted to finally welcome guests inside the museum we all love so much for a celebration deserving of such a legacy.

Set up as a centre for innovation and experimentation, IMMA has continued to thrive since its inception with thanks to generous support and friendship from the public. A cultural powerhouse, the museum doubles as a creative space for local and international artists to showcase to an ever-expanding audience.

Who was there?

Invited guests to IMMA’s 30th birthday dinner spanned many different fields and industries with those attending involved in sectors such as Irish and international arts, fashion, media and business. IMAGE Editor-in-Chief Lizzie Gore-Grimes was amongst those to make an appearance at the joyous occasion, as well as Managing Director of Elevate PR, Emma Kelly, and Val Forde, Communications and PR Director at Kildare Village. IMMA Former Directors Enrique Juncosa, Sarah Glennie and Declan McGonagle were also present on the night alongside art world familiar faces Barbara Dawson, Rowan Gillespie, Brendan Burgess, fashion designer Helen Cody and rugby legend Denis Hickie.
